PANJIM: The anti-narcotics sleuths arrested a 28-year-old Delhi businessman with 1.8 kgs of charas at Anjuna late Tuesday night.
SP ANC Kartik Kashyap said the person, whose identity cannot be disclosed due to the sensitivity of the case and ongoing investigations, was caught red-handed with 1.8 kgs of charas worth Rs 2.8 lakh.
The arrest has been labeled a ‘big catch’ for the ANC as he has been in direct contact with the drug lords and his arrests can help break the backbone of flourishing narcotics trade along the beach belt.
Kashyap said the accused has been living in Goa over the last six months and was planning to start his own restaurant along the coastal stretch.  “The building where he stayed was taken on lease,” the officer stated.
