VASCO: A resident of Andhra Pradesh died in a road accident reported on Wednesday opposite the Tilak Maidan Stadium.
Vasco Police have arrested the truck driver and have attached the vehicle.
According to Vasco Police, 37-year-old pedestrian Ammishetty Giri died on the spot after he was hit by loaded truck which was proceeding from Vasco to the port side.
Vasco Police informed that truck driver Maruti Domera, a resident of Maharashtra reportedly fled from the site but was later nabbed. An offence has been registered against him and the truck has been attached.
Although there were no eyewitnesses, there are chances that the CCTV footage will be checked for clues whether the pedestrian was crossing the road or just walking beside the road. The body has been sent to Goa Medical College. PSI Diago Gracias is investigating.
