PERNEM: The anganwadi at Deulwada owned by the State government is in need of urgent repairs.
The premises lies in a dilapidated condition as its roof got blown away during the recent Cyclone Tauktae. The roof, which is yet to be repaired, has forced the anganwadi teacher and helper to shift to a primary school building located at Gaonkarwada as temporary arrangement.
The cyclone hit the State six months ago, however till date the authorities appear least bothered to repair roof. With no roof, the building got damaged during the monsoon. The anganwadi caters to the children of six wards of Murmurse-Tuem.
Tuem panch Uday Mandrekar said, “It’s been six months that the structure is without roof. The teachers were compelled to shift and operate in a primary school building despite having its own building. The anganwadi is run without electricity. Bushes have grown all over. I request the concerned authorities such as the WCD Dept and the panchayat to resolve the issue at the earliest”.
