Angry Valpoi locals march Electricity Dept. due to improper power supply

With no proper power supply for straight 24 hours, angry locals from Nanoda, Kodal and Satre villages marched in protest to the Valpoi electricity department on Saturday. Due to frequent power supply interruptions, locals urged the government to find an immediate solution to their grievances.

Due to improper electricity supply in the villages of Nanoda, Kodal and Satre have infuriated the residents. The locals claim that the electricity department lacks manpower due to which linemen are unable to reach their areas to repair the electricity poles.

“For the past 10 hours, there’s been no power supply, in the entire Nanoda area. Morning the linemen identified the fault for the power cut and said that since there’s a shortage of linemen in the department they cannot fix the problem immediately. Now when we arrived here the remaining two-three staff are gone out to find faults. The situation here is so dreadful that whenever we try to call them, there’s no one to even receive our calls. If calls are not attended then how are they going to solve this issue.” Said an infuriated local

The locals marched to the department demanding an explanation for the department’s negligence. Frustrated locals stated, “The government should appoint some extra workers as it is their duty. We don’t what they are supposed to do but we want a continuous power supply. Now if the power gets cut again we will return here to protest just like how we have come now.”

The locals claim that this is not the first time that they have faced such issues. This issue is been prevailing for a very long time. They demanded the government appoint more workers so that such issues are not faced in the future.
