PANJIM: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Goa Police on Thursday arrested Omkar Palyekar, a resident of Chapora, Anjuna in connection with the alleged land grabbing case in Calangute village.
The SIT also rearrested Mohammed Suhail Shafi alias Michael, a day after his release by the Court. This is the third time Suhail has been arrested by the SIT since it started investigating land grabbing cases . According to the SIT, Suhail, a native of Karnataka is the mastermind in the land grabbing cases.
Police suspect that the accused is involved in several land grabbing cases reported in the Bardez taluka even as three cases were registered against him a few years ago.
