Anjuna Panchayat fails to tackle issue

ANJUNA: Stray cattle loitering the streets of Anjuna continue haunting villagers, commuters and tourists alike. Thousands of tourists, who flock here every year, have a problem with the stray cattle squatting in the middle of the road. The panchayat too has done nothing to curb the issue.

Dumping of garbage by the roadside attracts cattle from near and far in search of food as the grazing grounds have dwindled too.

Social activist and a villager Ravi Harmalkar says “Cattle are a problem everywhere but the government is not at all serious in solving this issue. This problem is major in Anjuna and the outgoing panchayat body has failed to tackle the issue. I request the government and the next panchayat body which will be elected soon to work and come up with a solution.”
