Anjuna police on Monday arrested one person for raping a 19-year-old girl at a resort in Arpora. As per SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi, a complaint was lodged by the 19-year-old victim girl wherein she informed that she along with her friend had gone for a picnic at a resort in Arpora.
Further, her friend’s boyfriend also came to the said picnic. After they partied, her friend’s boyfriend sent his girlfriend out on the pretext of getting some things and he went to the bedroom of the victim girl and tried to force himself on the victim. The victim managed to escape but out of fear did not narrate the facts immediately. After 03 days the girl finally narrated the ordeal to her elder sister and lodged a complaint.
The accused person has been identified as 21-year-old Albaz Afzal Noor Ahmed Khan, residing in Camurlim and a native of Haveri Karnataka. He has been arrested under section 376 IPC and is presently in police custody. Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of PI Anjuna Prashal Dessai, SDPO Mapusa Dalvi and SP North Nidhin Valsan IPS.
