MAPUSA/PANJIM: Anjuna police, headed by SDPO Jivba Dalvi and PI Vikram Naik, conducted surprise raid at a massage parlour named ‘Alga, The Centre for Ayurvedic & Healing’, near Rockey Garage in Anjuna, which was found to be operating illegally.
Dr Sadhana Shetye, Health Officer, PHC, Siolim was present during the raid. The parlour was immediately shut down and report was submitted to SDM Mapusa, asking it to seal the premises.
Panjim police also inspected 12 spas and massage parlours in its jurisdiction. Panjim PI said that it was a routine inspection conducted to keep vigil on Illegalities. “A total of 12 spas and massage parlours were inspected today, papers of all were found to be clear with no discrepancy. Rest of the masage parlours will be inspected tomorrow,” said the PI.
Panjim police will carry out inspection on regular basis to uphold and enforce the law, PI added. The inspection was carried out in the presence of DySP Sudesh Naik along with Inspectors of Corporation of City of Panaji (CCP).
Earlier, acting on the directions of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to crackdown spa, and massage parlours operating illegally in the coastal belt of North Goa, a police team headed by DySp Jivba Dalvi raided the Holy Basil Holistic Healing Spa in Anjuna.
