CALANGUTE: A group of residents from Anjuna gathered at the venue of the forthcoming Sunburn festival at Vagator on Saturday, to protest against the government’s indifference towards ecology and to express their unhappiness with the local communidade for not taking them into confidence.
The Gaunkars of Anjuna Communidade, locals and environmentalists have also decided to challenge the Single Window decision of the State government to grant permission for mega events.
Dr Joe D’Souza, member of Goa State Biodiversity Board (GSBB), being ruined in the area.He hoped that Minister for Forests Alina Saldanha would have voiced her concerns before the state government could grant permission to the mega music event.
“However, she passed on the buck to Revenue Minister Francis D’Souza and the end result is destruction of nature at the cost of a music event.
