Anjunem Dam gates opened; water released in Costi, Valvanti rivers

PORIEM: Due to heavy rainfall, the Anjunem Dam reached its maximum capacity by crossing the 90 metre mark, which prompted the officials to open all four gates of the dam to release excess water.

The excess water was released in Costi and Valvanti rivers, potentially causing a rise in water levels in these rivers.

People residing near the rivers are advised to exercise caution, avoid crossing the rivers, and refrain from activities like washing clothes and bathing.

Poriem MLA Deviya Rane has urged all residents of Sattari to stay away from waterfalls, streams, and rivers and remain alert and take all necessary precautions.
