PANJIM: ANM Goa organised a cleaning drive at Cacra Beach, recently.
130 volunteers, especially college students from Dempo College, Dhempe College, Goa University, St Xavier’s College, Goa College of Architecture and other colleges from North Goa, collected more than 40 bags of plastic and glass material.
The panch members of Cacra panchayat provided support to the initiative. Former sarpanch Marino Araujio, Santa Cruz panchayat was also present along with other locals led by Norman Fernandes.
The elderly residents also joined in the campaign with Dr Puranjaya Singh, Dr Anita Dudhane and Shilpa Bandoker, panch member Cacra VP, Santa Cruz providing insights on how to tackle the garbage issue at the place.
On the occasion, ANM urged the Santa Cruz VP to set up dustbins at the Cacra Beach and to provide toilets for the locals.
ANM Goa will be also organising awareness campaigns in different villages across Goa to spread awareness about garbage and other social issues to preserve the essence of “Goenkarponn”.
