Annual Planned Shutdown for Maintenance in South Goa

In the interest of ensuring the reliability and safety of the electricity infrastructure, the Electricity Department announces an Annual Planned Shutdown for maintenance in South Goa. The shutdown will affect various talukas and areas as outlined below:

Date and Time: Sunday, 17th March 2024, from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Areas Affected:

Entire talukas of Canacona, Sanguem, Quepem

Part of Dharbandora Taluka (V.P Kirlapal-Dabal, Shigao-Collem, Mollem)

Part of Ponda Taluka (V.P Panchwadi)

Part of Salcete (Except Raia, Curtorim, Loutolim, Macazana, and Verna)

Majorda

Mormugao Taluka

Reason for Shutdown: The maintenance activities will focus on the BHV sub-stations in South Goa, including 220/110/33/11KV Xeldem substation, 220/33KV Cuncolim substation, and 220KV incoming lines. Additionally, maintenance work will be conducted on 220KV, 110KV & 33KV intrastate lines.

Consequences: During the specified period, from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., there will be no power supply in the aforementioned areas. This is a preventive measure undertaken for the upkeep and enhancement of the electricity infrastructure.

Inconvenience Regretted: The Electricity Department, South Goa, regrets any inconvenience caused to its esteemed consumers due to this planned maintenance activity. The department seeks the understanding and cooperation of the public in ensuring the overall efficiency and reliability of the electricity supply.

Supervision: The Annual Planned Shutdown is under the supervision of the SUPERINTENDING ENGINEER, CIRCLE-I (SOUTH), MARGAO. The department assures consumers that all efforts will be made to complete the maintenance work efficiently within the stipulated time.
