VASCO: Luxury cruise liner M V Viking Sun of Viking Ocean Cruises arrived at Mormugao Port from Cochin Port, under the command of Capt Atle Haakon Nutsen, carrying 668 high-end guests and 465 crew members on Friday morning.
The cruise liner which is on its maiden visit has guests from USA (548), Canada (58), UK (38) and other nationalities.
The guests and crew members were given a rousing welcome by the Tourism Department officials on its arrival at the cruise terminal and colorful Goan cultural folk dances and musical performances were presented.
Welcoming the Master of the visiting cruise ship Dy Chairman MPT G P Rai briefed him on the facilities and infrastructure available at Mormugao Port.
The guests availed the facilities provided by local tour operators M/s Trail Blazer, India to explore the beaches and other tourist’s spots in Goa and were taken for sight-seeing tours.
The vessel sailed on its onward voyage to Mumbai later in the evening.
