PANJIM: The blood bath on the State’s roads continued on Tuesday, as Ankit Pandurang Naik, a resident of Bhoma, died in a head-on collision between two two-wheelers near Banastarim Bridge.
According to Old Goa PI Satish Padwalkar, Burhanuddin Kotwala, the rider of the other two-wheeler, sustained serious injuries and was admitted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim for treatment.
The PI further said that the accident took place when Ankit was travelling towards Panjim from Bhoma, and Burhanuddin was coming from the opposite direction.
SP Traffic Bossuet Silva said, “Looking at the nature of accidents in Goa it is time we introspect and find the reason why so many innocent lives are lost on roads. Most are self accidents and there is no one to blame for it.”
