PANJIM/MARGAO: Yet another Goa based pharmaceutical company, Encube Ethical Private Limited situated at Madkai has cancelled its walk-in recruitment drive scheduled at Pune, Maharashtra.
The company had scheduled the recruitment drive on Sunday, May 26.

On Wednesday, the Indoco Remedies, situated at Verna industrial estate had cancelled its walk-in-interviews scheduled at Boisar, Mumbai, scheduled on May 24. The interviews were for several openings in its Verna factory.
The company too wrote a letter to the Chief Minister stating that “due to some unavoidable circumstances and your personal interventions, we are cancelling the above-mentioned walk-in interview planned at Boisar, Mumbai location on May 24”.
There are reports that yet another pharmaceutical company has scheduled interviews for its Goa location at Vapi, Gujarat.
Leader of the Opposition Yuri Alemao on Thursday released a screenshot from the Government of Goa portal, revealing that Encube Ethicals showed ‘No vacancies available’ and demanded clarification from Labour and Employment Minister Atanasio ‘Babush’ Monserrate regarding the vacancies advertised by both – Indoco and Encube Ethicals- for their plants in the State.
Yuri demanded that the government should confirm whether these vacancies were notified by the two pharma companies on the portal of the Goa Employment Exchange. Furthermore, he questioned whether the government had adequately informed local youth about these opportunities, emphasising the importance of ensuring that Goan residents are aware of and have access to employment opportunities within their own State.
“It is mandatory for the private firms and companies to notify the vacancies on the portal of employment exchange. There is no clarity on the exact number of vacancies and posts available with Indoco,” he said.
Yuri demanded orders from the concerned Minister for a high-level inquiry on all the recruitments done by the private companies in the last few years and to place the report in the ensuing monsoon session of Goa Legislative Assembly.
Goa Forward Party (GFP) president and Fatorda MLA VijaiSardesai made a decisive call on Thursday, demanding a comprehensive white paper detailing the current status of jobs in the State, as the party’s investigation revealed one more company scheduled walk-in interview in Pune for Goa openings.
He called for a comprehensive policy to guarantee jobs for Goans within the State.
“Bring regulation, or create policy, do what must be done to protect the job opportunities that local Goans rightfully deserve,” Sardesai said.
He underscored the need for a separate postal circle in Goa, highlighting the state’s status as an independent entity deserving of its own administrative infrastructure.
The State government encourages companies by providing people’s land, incentives and the jobs in the company go to people from outside Goa, said Sardesai.
Vijai asserted that rent-a-bike scheme and pod hotels offered by the Konkan Railway, will undermine local businesses and deprive Goans of employment opportunities.
