The incident occured in the morning when a portion of the balcony slab came down crashing on the busy road luckily, no one was present under or near the site.
When contacted, MMC Chief Officer Deepali Naik, said most of the occupants in the building have already vacated their flats while few people are still occupying their rooms. The building has been identified as unsafe.
She said that MMC has already served eviction notice after the first incident was reported two days back and she would again send Municipal staff to ensure strict compliance of eviction order.
“We have asked the residents to vacate their flats and shops immediately, however, some people are still occupying their flats and hence MMC would take a decision on next course of action to evict the remaining residents as the building is unsafe and has to be demolished on a priority basis,” she told.
