MARGAO: Robbers struck once again along the railway tracks near the Margao railway station when a middle aged native of Kerala became the latest victim of the miscreants on Monday night.
The victim Abdul Salam was heading towards the Margao railway station along the tracks when he was pushed down by unknown persons. Before he could recover, the miscreants snatched his bag and made good their escape under the cover of darkness.
Salam had come to Margao from Kerala by train in the morning and was scheduled to leave for home by the late evening train. “They have fled with my bag containing clothes and petty cash,” he said.
The incident once again brought to the fore the safety and security of citizens either walking along the tracks or on the station road. A month back, a woman passenger was robbed of her bag from a moving train when it reached near the footbridge at the old Margao station.
