PANJIM: Goa experienced some respite today from the heavy rainfall that lashed the State during the last 48 hours. But this break will not last for long.
The Goa Met department is already predicting another round of cyclonic weather later this week as a low pressure is likely to develop in the Bay of Bengal.
“This is likely to happen sometime during October 11-12,” said K V Singh heading the Goa weather bureau.
The weather department will be closely watching the next expected cyclonic circulation, this time in the Bay of Bengal.
The present cyclonic circulation in the Arabian Sea off the North Maharashtra coast, Singh said, has passed off even though isolated thunder showers are expected at some places in Goa.
Since October 1 till date Goa has received 79.5 mm of rainfall.
