New MMC Vice Chairperson Tara Kerkar said that she would extend her full support to the villagers of Sancoale and Chicalim who were against setting up the marina projects in the Zuari river. She said that she would never allow the project, and would take to the streets with the people if needed.
“I agree with my chairperson Lavina D’Souza. Her concern is genuine as (the) marinas would not only damage the biodiversity, but would also hinder the operations of large number of fishermen who are dependent on Zuari river,” said Kerkar.
