PANJIM: A people’s march (rally) against the Citizenship Amendment Act, National Register for Citizens, and National Population Register (CAA-NRC-NPR) will be held in Panjim, on Friday, followed by a public meeting.
The march will commence at Campal Parade Ground, at 3.30pm and proceed to Azad Maidan via DB Road. The march will culminate in a public meeting at Azad Maidan, which will be addressed by speakers from across the country, including locals.
The people’s march and the public meeting has been organised by the Goa Alliance against CAA-NRC-NPR (GACNN). GACNN has been formed in Goa
pursuant to the enactment of the CAA. Apart from opposing CAA, the alliance also opposes the proposal to initiate the NRC and the NPR.
Citizens from all over Goa, cutting across different faiths and communities, are expected to participate in the march and attend the public meeting.
