CALANGUTE: Villagers of Parra in collaboration with Parra Panchayat and Calangute MLA Michael Lobo will organise a campaign to ban the use of plastic in Parra on Saturday.
The drive will start at 3.30 pm near the Parra Panchayat. Later, the villagers will march through the streets of Parra urging the citizens to do away with plastic which have been posing a serious threat to the environment.
Meanwhile, the villagers nabbed a rickshaw driver for allegedly dumping garbage in close vicinity of St Anne’s Church, Parra. The villagers alerted Parra Sarpanch Delilah Lobo who rushed to the site.
