Anti-social elements will be taken to task, warns CM

Says tranquility, peace of the State will be maintained

VASCO: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant warned that the anti-social elements from the State will be taken to task and the BJP government will make sure that the tranquility and peace of the State is maintained.

He was addressing the people at Headland Sada, on late Thursday evening.  Commenting on the Opposition, the Chief Minister said that the BJP “karyakartas” have been continuously working for the people and the Opposition has just woken up from the slumber. 

When asked about some pending works, the Chief Minister said that the main road at Sada will be completed before the monsoon and the major port connectivity road will be completed before the Assembly election. 

Speaking on the recent move, which the State government will be taking, the Chief Minister said that the Goa Police and the Collector will take necessary action against the anti-social elements from the society. 

Sawant said that it is the time to protect Goa’s tranquillity and peace. Therefore, the anti-social elements and nuisance makers will be under the scanner and if found disturbing the harmony of the society then they will be taken to task and strict action will be taken on such people.

Later, speaking to the reporters Urban Development Minister Milind Naik stated that Chief Minister had come to visit his constituency.

Naik declared nine-candidate panel, which is supported by him, for the Mormugao Municipal Council elections.

He also said that the recent double murder case in Fatorda has made the State government to think seriously and take stringent action against the anti-social elements, history-sheeters if they are continuing with their nuisance.

When asked about the differences and the statement made against Urban Development Minister by Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida, Naik responded in a sarcasm that let the Vasco MLA extend his support to Naik-backed candidates and all nine candidates win. Then Naik may meet Chief Minister and think about leaving the position in the interest of the party.

Earlier, the Chief Minister Sawant inaugurated multiple offices of the BJP-backed candidates in Vasco area namely New Vaddem, Mangor, Varunapuri and urged the locals to vote for BJP-backed candidates and bring development.
