Porvorim: Amidst criticism from opposition on his “field” stunt, Agriculture Minister Vijai Sardesai said that he is ready to do anything to bring the youth to take up the profession.
“Even if need be I can organise a beauty contest in the fields to bring youth to Agriculture,” he said replying to cut motions on agriculture.
The minister said that the agriculture sector needs to be incentivised further and needs to be supported in every way.
“We need to do traditional farming not only for business but for food security. You see news of everything adulterated or laced with chemicals but this has to be a joint effort,” he said.

“We have brought reforms in Goan Agriculture sector which even Centre has not thought of. We have subsidised almost everything. We need to take agriculture forward,” he said.
The Archives Minister Vijai Sardesai said that the plans are in progress to hand over the entire Archives department be handed over to Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Ltd (IPSCDL).
“We have oldest of museums and I feel the Smart City will do a great job by appointing consultants and taking good care of artefacts,” he said.
