AP native held for knocking down two

MARGAO: Colva police this evening arrested 22-year-old Akhil Anand, a resident of Station Road Charminar, Andhra Pradesh for rash driving that caused injuries to two persons including a priest in an accident that occurred at around 8.15 pm on Monday.
Akhil was allegedly drunk while proceeding in his Santoor car from Benaulim beach to Maria hall when the accident occurred at Vasvaddo when he was overtaking another vehicle and dashed into two scooters.
Both the scooter riders Arthur Fernandes and Fr Joao Coelho suffered injuries but instead of waiting to help the injured, Akhil fled from the scene and in the process damaged a sign board too. Police finally arrested Akhil at 5.20 pm on Tuesday.
