MAPUSA: Noted artist Dr Subodh Kerkar on Monday said he will develop a mobile app which when pointed at any global currency note would display a 3D image of Mahatma Gandhi.
Speaking at a function in Ananad Giri Keni memorial hall, Khorlim-Mapusa organized by Saraswat Vidyalaya PTA for the students on ‘My experiments with Art’, he said, “We have developed an app by which a 3D image of Mahatma Gandhi is displayed when pointed at Rs 100 note. In the days to come, we will try to take it a step further and develop an app that will display such image when pointed to any world currency note.”
He said, “The visual will be accompanied with a quotation of Gandhi in the language of the currency note.” Dr Kerkar informed the students that there are different ways of creating art and it can be done not just through painting.
“One can create art using different things found in nature and an art should also focus on social issues of our country” he added.
He said he has created several art forms with the help of ocean and sand. Through a power point presentation, Dr Kerkar she enlightened the students on various art forms.
Headmistress, Parvatidevi Nadkarni, PTA president Sachin Pai Bir, secretary Vinod Bilgoji, Bholesh Naik and others were present.
