PANJIM: In a letter to all the masjid committees of Goa / Jamaats / Muslim brothers, the Association of All Goa Muslim Jamaats has appealed against having any celebrations/ gatherings of Shab-e-Barat in congregation or group on March 28. A communication in this regard was sent to community members.
In a statement issued on March 28, the executive members of the Association said, “Regular Namaz at masjids to be offered by following the SOP issued earlier to the respective committees. For any further clarifications, please read the circular of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, dated March 1, 2021 on preventive measures to contain spread of COVID-19 in religious places.”
The statement further requested the community brothers to adhere to the orders of the Government of Goa, as these have been imposed for the safety of the community and the society.
The Association explained on the latest State’s government notification and what all is not allowed as per the prevailing Section 144 which is in force till April 15, 2021.
It also warned that anyone violating the order is liable to face action from the authorities.
Association president Shaikh Bashir Ahmed asked the faithful to kindly pray for the end of the pandemic.
