CANACONA: Moved by the plight of the families of the deceased and injured workers, a group of residents from Canacona have opened a ‘We Canconkar’ bank account and have appealed for donations.
Responding to the appeal, PWD Minister Sudhin Dhavalikar led the way by donating Rs 51,000 from his Dhavalikar Trust, while Sanguem MLA Subhash Phaldessai, who visited the site on Wednesday, and Canacona ex-MLA Vijay Poi Khot, a regular visitor to the site, also donated Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively. Vijay Poi Khot and some other locals appealed to the people to contribute generously into SB Account 103310210000045 at the Bank of India.
