MARGAO: Goa scored 158 for the loss of six wickets against Hyderabad on the first day of the two-day match in the Under-14 South Zone cricket tournament, at Bits Pilani ground, Sancoale, Thursday.
Goa won the toss and decided to bat first to lay a strong foundation as opener Piyush Yadav (34 runs, 93 b, 6×4) and Alam Khan (37 runs, 90 b, 7×4) added 74 runs for the first wicket. Umang Gosavi (43) was the other contributor for Goa.
Kamal Kumar was the most successful bowler for Hyderabad as he took four wickets for 35 runs and was ably supported by Hitesh Yadav, who scalped 1 for 25.

At GCA ground, Porvorim, Pradosh Ranjan Paul hit consecutive second century as Tamil Nadu piled up 296 for four in their first inning at the draw of stumps against Karnataka.
Pradosh, who scored century against Andhra Pradesh in the first match on MCC ground, Margao scored 129 runs in 227 balls with 19 hits to the fence. He shared opening stand of 146 with S. Abhishek, who scored 53 while added another 90 runs for the second wicket with R. Sonu Yadav, who scored unbeaten 75 runs.
