A poor woman in the Chorla Ghat area lost her cow when a tiger attacked it some time back. This cow was her only source of income. The Vivekanand Environment Awareness Brigade, a local NGO, has initiated a campaign to buy a cow for her, so that the people of the area do not turn against the tiger. The cost of a cow is Rs 15,000. So far, the Brigade has raised Rs 7,000. Eco Treks Goa is supporting this cause, and has so far collected Rs 700 from its founder members and leaders.Those wishing to support the cause are urged to make a donation.
