PANJIM: Advocate Aires Rodrigues on Monday moved an application before the newly appointed Goa Lokayukta Justice Ambadas Joshi over the failure of Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) to register First Information Report (FIR) against Cumbarjua MLA Pandurang Madkaikar in the disproportionate assets case.
Former Lokayukta Justice P K Misra on September 15, 2020 had directed the ACB to register an FIR despite which no action was taken.
Adv Rodrigues on June 7, 2018 had filed a complaint with the Lokayukta over the inaction of the ACB in probing the complaint filed by him against Madkaikar and his wife Janita, who is also the Sarpanch of Old Goa Village Panchayat.
The complainant had pointed out to a huge palatial bungalow inaugurated on April 1, 2017 at Old Goa, which is estimated to have cost around a whopping Rs 200 crore. Adv Rodrigues also submitted to the ACB photographs of the bungalow and a copy of the Affidavit dated January 13, 2017 filed by Pandurang
