With an increase in the number of crimes against women, Activist and former member of the Women’s Commission, Tara Kerkar has demanded that the govt. appoint, the Women Commission members. Kerkar stated that the Women & Child Departments Women’s Commission that takes up cases of violation against women has been inactive for nearly 5 months.

Kerkar has requested Women and Child Development Minister Vishwajit Rane to appoint a commission.
