The parishioners of Nuvem had been waiting eagerly for the opening of the new Jesus Mary Joseph church. Archbishop Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrao inaugurated the new church in Nuvem on Saturday. This new church is constructed next to the 320-year-old Mae dos Pobres church. The growing number of devotees, necessitated a spacious place for worship, hence the new church was constructed. A large number of people from the parish came to the first mass at the new church on Saturday.
The new church stands proudly, boasting multiple galleries. Among these are two smaller, intimate spaces on either side, ideal for smaller groups or choirs with larger, airy galleries on both sides and a particularly big one on the eastern side, designed to welcome a larger congregation.
