PANJIM: Archives Minister Subhash Phal Desai said that the Department of Archives will convert all the historical documents available with them in electronic form, so as to prevent the fraudulent editing of the old land documents that resulted in illegal land grabbing in the State. He was speaking after inaugurating the special exhibition of Modi-Marathi documents organized by the Department of Archives at Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto, here.
Phal Desai stated that people have fraudulently used land documents from the Archives Department and claimed ownership of the land, recently. The department is in process of developing special software to digitise historical documents by which people will be able to access documents for fair purposes.
