MARGAO: Judicial Magistrate First Class Ashwini Khandolkar on Tuesday heard arguments in the discharge application filed by former minister Francisco Xavier alias Mickky Pacheco and set May 3 as the date for further arguments.
Representing Mickky, Advocate Shrikant Naik said the present charge sheet was practically the same as that filed earlier, which was discharged by the court and added that seven years later another charge sheet has been filed only to harass and politically finish his client, who was a minister earlier “as the present government does not like him.”
He argued that the only difference was that the date of incident has been changed and the complainant is different. While all other matters such as the place where the incident occurred and the witnesses are the same. He prayed that the charge sheet against his client be discharged.
