The Centre is considering involving the armed forces to assist in the conduct of the NEET-UG re-examination scheduled for June 21, in an unprecedented move aimed at ensuring a secure and error-free national entrance test for over 2.2 million candidates.Army and Air Force support is likely to be used in the logistics chain, particularly for the delivery of question papers across the country, especially in regions affected by adverse weather conditions such as heavy rain or storms.A high-level review meeting on the arrangements was held at the residence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday. The meeting was attended by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, senior officials from the National Testing Agency (NTA), and representatives from the Ministry of Education.The discussion reviewed the entire examination process — including question paper setting, printing, transportation, security protocols, and last-mile delivery — to prevent any malpractice or security breach.Officials indicated that multiple agencies, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, state governments, IT ministry, postal department, civil aviation, and the Ministry of External Affairs, are being coordinated to ensure smooth conduct of the re-exam.
