Army announces recruitment drive; urges youth not fall prey to dupes

PANJIM: In the backdrop of several job aspirants in different sectors falling prey to dupers, the Indian Army has advised Goan youth to refrain from approaching any agent promising them of jobs in the Army.
Addressing a press conference to announce job opening in the Indian Army, Anurag Saxena said they conduct recruitment drives in fair and transparent manner. Saxena is the director of the army recruiting office at Kolhapur
“The aspirants should not fall prey to agents or a dalal. The Indian Army does not in any manner allow and/or approve, or have any agents to recruit people. The applicants should not be gullible to give their money to such agents, who operate for their own personal gains,” he said.
The Indian Army has started recruitment drive for candidates from six districts of Maharashtra and Goa. Saxena informed that a candidate can register through applications available on the official website that has also spelt out eligibility criteria to join the disciplined force.
“The admit card will be received on the emails provided by the candidates. The recruitment rally comprising of physical fitness test and medical examination will be held at Ratnagiri followed by written examination (of those clearing the first round) in January or February,” he said.
Those failing the medical test, Saxena said, will be given another opportunity to clear the rounds.
“Army is always fair and transparent, and if you meet physical requirements, you are welcome into the force,” he said reiterating that agents should not be allowed to cheat the candidates.
Urging more Goan youth to join the most admired and respected institution in the country, Saxena recalled some of the highest posts had been held by Goans.
The Kolhapur Recruitment Office intends to hold the next recruitment drive in Goa.
