Army eager to teach lesson to enemy, waiting for permission: Parrikar

VASCO: Reiterating that India's borders are all secured, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Sunday said the Army is eager to teach a lesson to enemy of the country and is just waiting for the government's permission.

Parrikar was addressing a gathering at Bhute Bhat ground in Baina on the occasion of Vijay Sankalp Mahamelava of Vasco constituency.  Today, the country’s borders are secured and no one can dare attack us. I am proud to say that the moral of the Army is very high. Our Soldiers want to teach a lesson to country’s enemy. It is just a matter of orders from the government. We want to tell our enemy that if they stare at us, we can stare at them with bigger eyes,” he said.
He further said that “In the last 30 years, our Army did not get new armaments, but after the Modi government came to power, we are completely committed towards protecting our country from her enemies. Moving ahead in same directions, we have also given required armaments to the soldiers and we have taken initiative to manufacture “Dhanush” at the HAL unit in Bangalore”.
“India’s LCA Tejas whose design was with the government for the last 33 years is going to become reality now. It is sad that the subsequent Congress governments at the Centre were not interested in the proposal of building Tejas aircraft by government as Congress would have not got their commission (bribe) out of it,” he alleged.
He said that the Central government has given all powers to the Army in Jammu and Kashmir to shoot at any person displaying machine-guns or pistols on the borders.
“Congress government had given directions to the solders that till the enemy fires at you don’t retaliate. I don’t want our soldiers to die and thus I have given clear instructions that if you (soldiers) see a machine gun or a pistol in anyone’s possession in the border areas, then don’t be under the impression that he is here to greet you. There’s no problem to fire at him, before you get martyred, you should eliminate him. We have given all powers to the Army to reply to our enemy,” he added.
