Arrested for stalking, IRB cop gets police custody

MAPUSA: The Judicial magistrate First Class (JMFC), Mapusa on Thursday remanded Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) constable Suraj Shailendra Saxena to one-day police custody for allegedly stalking a woman, outraging her modesty and for further threatening her and her husband.

The woman had lodged a complaint on September 1 stating that on the same day in the evening Suraj along with his friend Babit Naik stalked her over some personal issue to foster the personal contacts with her and intentionally followed her and further abused her and her husband with filthy language and threatened with dire consequence.

The accused has been booked under Sections 504, 354-D, 509 and 506 (ii) of the IPC.

The complainant also produced the video clippings of the incident and taken into consideration the previous history and conduct of the IRB cop, the Mapusa Police immediately nabbed Suraj, a resident of Chimbel and placed him under arrest. The search for other accused is on.
