MARGAO: Rejecting the contention of the 12-member group that there was no development during his tenure, MMC Chairperson Arthur D’Silva said development in the city was hampered because of constant transfers of the Chief Officers.
“How can you blame me for lack of development when the chief officers were transferred every three months. I had initiated a host of developmental proposals, including multi-storey parking at the old fish market, but transfer of Chief Officers delayed administrative procedures,” he told the media.
Asked whether he would tender his resignation in the wake of the no-trust motion tabled by the 12 Councillors or face the motion, Arthur said he has not yet decided on the future course of action and will announce the same after consulting his councilor colleagues.
“During my tenure I had tried my best to take up the city’s development works. Maybe I have failed in doing the personal development of some persons,” he added.
