ARAMBOL/PERNEM/BICHOLIM: Ashadhi Ekadashi was celebrated at various temples across the State on Sunday.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant along with his wife Sulakshana Sawant performed rituals at Vithal Rakhumai temple in Vithalapur.
The chief minister said that he prayed for god’s blessing on his people and speedy development of the State.
Thirty youth took a lengthy pilgrimage from Arambol to Vithal Temple, Vithalapur in Sanquelim. They started walking at 6 in the morning and visited Swami Samarth Math, Siolim, the Ram Temple in Colvale and later culminated at Vithal temple at 4 pm.
The festival was observed with rather more excitement in Morjim. A small pilgrimage of 1 km called Dindi was taken from Kanchole waddo to Morjai temple, Morjim. The temple also observed religious chanting for the whole 24 hours which received tremendous response from the locals.
