Asian Games 2026 medal tally India stays 12th with 21 medals after two more bronze medals

India remained 12th on the Asian Games 2026 medal table on Day 7 of the Aichi-Nagoya Games, with a total of 21 medals comprising two gold, eight silver and 11 bronze. The country’s medal tally received two more bronze medals on Friday, with Manpreet Kaur finishing third in the women’s shot put and the mixed doubles table tennis pair of Manush Shah and Diya Chitale also securing bronze.

China continued to dominate the standings, leading the medal table with 156 medals, including 96 gold, 36 silver and 24 bronze. Japan, competing on home soil, occupied second place with 111 medals, comprising 26 gold, 41 silver and 44 bronze.

South Korea remained third with 62 medals, including 13 gold, 16 silver and 33 bronze. Kazakhstan was fourth with 27 medals, while Uzbekistan stood fifth with 30 medals. Iran, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, North Korea and Malaysia completed the top 10.

India’s tally stood at 21 medals, including two gold medals, eight silver medals and 11 bronze medals. The two gold medals have come from the women’s cricket team and the 10m air pistol mixed team of Kamaljeet and Suruchi Singh.

India’s shooting contingent has contributed heavily to the medal tally. Elavenil Valarivan won silver in the women’s 10m air rifle individual event, while she also joined Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa Vinod to win silver in the team event.

Himanshu Dhillon secured silver in the men’s 10m air rifle individual event and was part of the silver-winning men’s team alongside Rudrankksh Patil and Parth Mane. Rudrankksh also won an individual bronze in the event.

India added several more medals across disciplines. Raiza Dhillon, Maheshwari Chauhan and Parinaaz Dhaliwal won bronze in the women’s skeet team event, while Anantjeet Singh Naruka, Bhavtegh Singh Gill and Mairaj Ahmad Khan secured bronze in the men’s skeet team competition. Anantjeet also partnered Parinaaz Dhaliwal for another bronze in mixed skeet.

Outside shooting, Mirabai Chanu won silver in women’s 49kg weightlifting, while Roshibina Devi claimed silver in the women’s 60kg sanda event in wushu. Indian athletes also secured medals in soft tennis, badminton, rowing, athletics, mixed martial arts and table tennis.

Manpreet Kaur’s bronze in the women’s shot put and Manush Shah and Diya Chitale’s bronze in mixed doubles table tennis took India’s bronze tally into double digits.

Afghanistan were listed 26th with three medals, comprising one silver and two bronze, while Nepal stood 32nd with two bronze medals. Pakistan also had two bronze medals and was placed alongside Nepal at 32nd.

The medal table was updated periodically as competition continued across the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
