Assagao local booked for trespass, assault

MAPUSA: Anjuna police have booked one Desmond Alvares, a resident of Assagao, for allegedly trespassing into a temple and assaulting one Umesh Umesh Sadanand Tanksalli (54), a resident of Bhoutawado, Aasagao.

According to Anjuna police, Tanksalli complained that the accused criminally trespassed into Somnath Devashthan Temple wearing shoes thereby outraged the religious feelings of the devotees and further assaulted the complainant with fist blows causing injuries to the complainant and also threatened to kill him.

In this connection, Anjuna police have registered a case under section 448, 295-A, 323, 506(ii) of IPC.
