MARGAO: A tragic incident occurred in Cuncolim, where a 30-year-old man, Bhubaneswar Dekka, lost his life after accidentally coming into contact with a live electric wire in his rented room.
According to Cuncolim PI Tukaram Chavan, the unfortunate incident resulted in the man’s untimely demise. Police have registered the case as an unnatural death under Section 174 of the CRPC.
The incident unfolded when the deceased returned home from work, took a bath, and then hung wet clothes on a wire string in the room for drying. Suddenly, he got electrocuted and fell unconscious in the room.
In a bid to help, his wife promptly turned off the main switch, cutting the electricity supply. She called for the 108 ambulance, but Bhubaneswar Dekka was declared dead.
