CURCHOREM: Curchorem Police arrested a man and his son on charges of assaulting former Sanvordem sarpanch Nilkant Naik on Tuesday.
According to Curchorem Police, Tukaram Naik and his son Darshan from Morconi-Bandol, Dabal, allegedly assaulted Naik with a wooden stick while he was doing some work in his property at Marconi.
Naik, who sustained injuries, was shifted to Curchorem Health Centre, from where he was referred at Hospicio in Margao and later shifted to Goa Medical College Hospital at Bambolim for further medical treatment.
Police arrested the two accused under Section 326 IPC and is investigating the case under the supervision of PI Siddhant Shirodkar.
