MAPUSA: Assonora United registered a solitary goal win over St Sebastian SC, Mapusa, in the St Anthony’s Cup organised by St Anthony’s SC, Marna-Siolim, at Siolim ground, on Monday.
The teams went into the breather locked in a goalless draw.
In the second half, Assonora United scored after Sainal Oliviera crossed the ball to Pranil Naik, who headed the ball into the goal, 1-0.
The man-of-the-match was awarded to Manuel Viegas of St Sebastian SC, which was presented by Elwyn Fernandes.
FC Tuem had to wait for the penalty shoot before they got the better of Goa Velha SC by 5-4 margin.
The match which was equally contested saw it end in a goalless draw. To decide the winners penalty shootout was enforced where FC Tuem won by 5-4 margin.
FC Tuem’s Sanket Kambli received the man-of-the-match award from Xavier Fernandes.
