PANJIM: An undertrial has accused senior prisons officials at Colvale Central Jail of ignoring his repeated complaints of brutal attack on him within the jail premises. Amzad Khan alias Nigro, charged with murder, has mentioned to the court threat to his life as he has applied for bail.
In his application filed before the Additional Sessions Judge-3, Margao, Nigro stated that some inmates are assaulting him in the custody. “This has also been brought to the notice of the Asst Superintendent (Bhanudas Pednekar), jailor and asst, jailor of assault/attempt to kill the applicant but till date no action has been taken against the said culprits,” the application, hearing on which is expected on July 8, states.
