CANACONA: Condemning the attack on the driver attached to Canacona Mamlatdar’s office, government employees from Canacona on Thursday warned that they will not accept any interference while discharging their duties.
It may be recalled that Canacona Police had arrested Edward Monteiro on charges of assaulting Canacona Mamlatdar office driver Vinod Dessai at Maxem two days ago, when he along with a bailiff had gone to deliver a notice in Loliem.
Canacona staff on Thursday gathered in the meeting hall of Canacona Deputy Collector’s office under the ‘Goa Government Employees Association’ (AGEA) banner and condemned the unwarranted attack on its employees while on duty.
The staff was particularly aggrieved saying that interference in discharging their day-to-day duty will not be tolerated at any cost.
“ Such incidents will not be tolerated and the association will see that culprits get maximum punishment,” stated
Sources in police informed that the accused was released on bail on Wednesday.
