The Nigerian accused of raping an Australian woman has been remanded to 14 days judicial custody, even as another Nigerian national has been detained by Canacona police.
Canacona police produced Obi Okaroafor (25) before the JMFC Canacona, who remanded him to 14 days judicial custody, in connection with the rape case.
It may be recalled that a 25-year-old Australian woman, had reportedly partied with the accused and later went to his rented room for the night.
The next morning, she complained to Canacona police that she had been raped by the Nigerian.
Meanwhile, Canacona police arrested one Khaleed (31) also from Nigeria and reportedly an associate of Coquero, on charges of failing to possess his traveling documents/passport. He was later remanded to a one-day police custody.
It is reportedly learnt that Khaleed, who was also rounded up by police for questioning in the alleged rape case, had pleaded with the police that his passport is available in a rented room at North Goa.
