Locals from Junaswada Mandrem have raised serious over rising illegal constructions in the locality. The locals have highlighted an illegal construction near Naroba Up at Junaswada Mandrem on MDR road.
The local Panchayat has been diligently filing complaints with the authorities regarding the illegal construction, especially given its location within the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ). However, these pleas have fallen on deaf ears, leaving residents feeling neglected and vulnerable.
The unchecked growth of resorts, pubs, and clubs in the area has congestion and disrupted smooth traffic flow. Furthermore, these establishments’ failure to provide adequate parking facilities has only compounded the issue, with roads being utilized for parking instead of their intended purpose.
Sarpanch Bala Naik has taken proactive measures, alerted all relevant departments, and initiated necessary actions within the Panchayat. However, if the authorities continue to turn a blind eye, he has vowed to take the matter to higher authorities. Naik further asserted the support of the villagers and warned against attempts at bribery, threatening exposure to the media.
Illegal construction not only poses a threat to the local environment but also infringes upon the well-being of the community. Hence the locals have sought immediate intervention by the authorities to mitigate further damage and preserve the area’s ecological balance.
