Availing loans to become easier too

Getting loans from Nationalized Banks would be an easy affair for Goan artisans now with the introduction of credit cards for them.
Central government sponsored ‘Artisans Credit Card (ACC)’, will provide an adequate and timely assistance to artisans to meet their credit requirements both investment needs as well as working capital.
With ACC, all registered artisans would enjoy the credit limit upto Rs 2 lakhs each.
The scheme, which would be applicable in both rural and urban areas, will help in easy access of investment loans for purchase of tools and equipments by way of Demand Loan/Term Loan with appropriate payment schedule.
 “ACC will help artisans to obtain loan at low rate of interest from any nationalized banks across the country,” GHRSSIDC Chairman Sameer Salgaoncar said.
He informed that of the 900 registered artisans, over 700 artisans would be covered in the first phase.
 “The artisans would be asked to renew their cards after every three years so that we can keep a record of how many artisans have actually availed the benefit of the card,” the Chairman stated.
